臺大經濟系許軒銘老師誠徵兼任研究助理
研究簡介
經濟系許軒銘教授要招募數名兼任研究助理，參與一系列探討臺灣經濟成長歷史的研究計畫。我的研究領域涵蓋經濟史、發展經濟學、政治經濟學與都市經濟學。
各項計畫結合新數位化的歷史資料與現代經濟學實證方法，研究主題包括：
1. 戰後國民政府官僚及其經濟政策
2. 農業技術擴散與結構轉型
3. 都市/空間計畫對區域發展的長期影響
工作內容
– 歷史統計、人事名冊與檔案文獻的資料輸入、清理與驗證
– 在 QGIS 中進行歷史地圖的地理對位與數位化
– 撰寫與維護資料處理程式（以 R 為主）
– 檢查與校正 OCR 文字辨識結果；跨資料來源的記錄串聯
– 記錄資料來源與處理流程
應徵條件
– 臺大在學學生（大學部或研究所），不限系所，大三以上經濟學或相關領域佳
– 細心、有耐心，能處理繁體字歷史文獻
– 具備基礎程式能力（R、Python 或 Julia）並熟悉 AI 程式輔助工具，或有學習意願
– 熟悉 QGIS 者佳
– 對經濟史有興趣者佳
待遇與期間
– 工作時間彈性
– 每月新臺幣 6,000 至 8,000 元，視經驗而定
– 起始日期彈性，以 10 月 1 日前到職為佳；初期為期三個月，雙方同意後可續聘
– 工作地點：臺大社會科學院，或遠距工作
本職缺提供
建置與分析歷史資料的實作經驗、R 與 GIS 訓練，並實際了解經濟史實證研究如何進行。我也會提供申請研究所的指導。

About the research
Professor Shanon Hsuan-Ming Hsu at the Department of Economics is hiring several part-time research assistants for a set of projects on the historical origins of Taiwan’s postwar economic growth. My research spans economic history, development economics, political economy, and urban economics.
The projects combine newly digitized historical data with modern empirical methods in economics; research topics include:
1. The postwar Nationalist bureaucracy and its economic policies
2. The diffusion of agricultural technology and structural transformation
3. The long-run effects of urban/spatial planning on regional development
Responsibilities
– Data entry, cleaning, and validation of historical statistics, rosters, and archival documents
– Georeferencing and digitizing historical maps and features in QGIS
– Writing and maintaining data-processing scripts (R preferred)
– Checking and correcting OCR output; record linkage across sources
– Keeping clear documentation of data sources and procedures
Qualifications
– Currently enrolled NTU student, undergraduate or graduate, any department; 3rd-year or above in economics or related fields preferred
– Careful and patient with detailed work; comfortable with traditional-character historical documents
– Basic programming experience (R, Python, or Julia) and familiarity with AI coding tools, or willingness to learn
– Familiarity with QGIS is a plus
– Interest in economic history is a plus
Pay and duration
– Schedule flexible
– NT$ 6,000-8,000/month, depending on experience
– Start date flexible, ideally on or before October 1; initially for 3 months, renewable by mutual agreement
– Work location: College of Social Sciences, NTU, or remote
What you will gain
Hands-on experience in building and analyzing historical datasets, training in R and GIS, and exposure to how empirical research in economic history is done. Mentorship for graduate school applications.
